Welcome to the memorial page for

Daniel Anthony Calderon

July 29, 1951 ~ September 18, 2016 (age 65) 65 Years Old
Daniel Anthony Calderon, 65, of Pocatello passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at a local medical center due to Gastro Intestinal complications and Birkitt's Lymphoma. Dann was born July 29,1951 in Los Angeles, California to Alfred T. and Lucille Calderon.

Dann was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by five sisters: Laura Maher, Apple Valley, CA., Roberta Rodriguez, Concho, AZ., Diane Cerin, Castro Valley, CA., Donna Rangel, Whittier, CA., Denise Vigil, Rancho Marguerite, CA., and two brothers: Dickie Rodriguez, Hacienda Heights, CA., David Calderon, CO.

Dann grew up in southern California and graduated from Wilson High School. Like many during the Vietnam era, he joined the army and was stationed in Germany from 1971 – 1973. He reached the rank of US Army Specialist 4. He earned Sharpshooter status and drove a tank. He was most proud of his service and his comrades in arms. Having someone's back was an obligation he felt deeply.

After coming home he went into retailing where he held back office positions' in accounting, shrinkage control, and data processing. He continued working in retail most of his professional career and spent the last 13 years at Walmart. He always found interest in his job and pride in a job well done.

Dann had a passion for music, movies, and live entertainment. His in depth knowledge and anecdotes about celebrities made for lively conversation and some good laughs. He felt you never really understood a performer unless you saw them live. One of his greatest pleasures was being at a concert with good friends, sharing the experience and being in the moment when all is right with the world.

We will greatly miss our beloved partner, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Memorial services will be held Monday, September 26, at 4 pm in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, 232-0542, where family will receive friends one hour prior. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
