Christina Vega-Gabrielson, 66, joined her heavenly father on September 4, 2017. She was surrounded by loved ones and family at the time of her passing.
Christina was born August 14, 1951 in Tucson, Arizona to Mary Godoy-Vega and Alfred Vega Sr. She enjoyed dancing and taking care of her nine siblings.
In 1970 she married Simon C. Garza and moved to Brigham City Utah. Where they raised a beautiful family of two sons, Simon Jr and Raymond and two daughters, Veronica and Jessica. After separating, Christina settled in Pocatello Idaho where she met and married Doyle Lynn Gabrielson Jr.
Christina was active in her children and grand-children’s lives. Coaches and players on her grandchildren’s teams endearingly referred to her as “grandma” as she was often found cheering loudly, from the stands at their football, basketball, baseball and softball games. Christina enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family for all occasions. She enjoyed helping others and worked for First Choice Homecare, where many of her clients described her as fun loving and free spirited. She passed her zest for life and ability to keep a clean house, onto her children. Christina loved to play and joke with her family and friends and would often bring them to tears with laughter, because of her amazing sense of humor.
Christina is survived by her parents Mary Godoy-Vega and Alfred Vega Sr. of Santa Ana California, husband Doyle Lynn Gabrielson Jr of Pocatello, children Simon (Nichole), Raymond (Jalene), Veronica (Eddie), Jessica, sisters Sylvia, Margie, Caroline, Paulena, Doren, Sandra, Patty, brother Alfred Jr, grandchildren Isabel, Alexis, Kaitlyn, Carlos, Juanito, Espi, Kennasyn, Maycee, Kieson, and Rylan. Christina was proceeded in death by her sister Debrah, nephews Frankie and Gabriel.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 at 2 pm in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com 208-232-0542
